Jaime Garzón : Eleven Years of impunity (2010)

August 13 of 1999, Jaime fell out his vehicle; someone has attacked his body. What the state says? -Nothing-
Jaime was one of the first cases about journalist’s pursuit. He was never forgotten by his fans and followers, that are why public universities’ students and teachers remind him, more than ever, and year by year. He was an amazing man, lawyer, humorist, also an “actor”, known like “Eriberto de la calle”, or like a patient, who always answered “yes sir”, and a Journalist too, of T.V. mini-news called “Quack”, where the truth about politics and government, was exposed, like a joke.
Parents and friends have asked: Who was the person that kills him? And the most important thing, why him/her, do it? Why … if Jaime represented Colombian’s goals and ideas, about the education, public money, and how the government spend Colombian’s money.


“Here doesn’t exist a culture about property, someone bring down the window, and throw a piece of paper, because “this isn’t mine”.Brothers, we have to get into the idea to convert this country, and they answer: “here aren’t leaders”, and I say, we are waiting that someone comes and solve the trouble, but we ignore that are ourselves who have to solve it. So, if you, teenagers, don’t assume the direction of your country, nobody comes and saves it by you.
